The Significance of 7

In my research while working on my research paper I came across a lot of connections with the number 7 and the bible, as well as the number 7 being connected to many subjects like science, music and math which I found very intriguing. I found these connections when researching the connection of the 7 Horcruxes from Harry Potter to the bible to show the Christianity in the films and really learned a lot I had no idea about.

The number 7 can be found or referenced to 287 times in the bible, and the fraction 1/7th can be found an additional 98 times. I also found an interesting observation that if you add 287+98 you will get 385. Adding 7 to 385 gives you 392 which is actually 8 times the square of 7. Coincidence?

The number 7 can be seen in all works of God if you look hard enough. Creation was on the seventh day,  there are the 7 deadly sins along with the 7 virtues just to name a few connections. But also looking at the world and nature. Looking at music, there are only 7 notes, going up or down is the same note just at a different octave. There are 7 colors of the rainbow are remembered as ROYGBIV(red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet). A little more in depth on that note is that when light passes through a prism it will split into 7 parts. When we look at physics and specifically the periodic table, we will find that it contains 7 different levels of periodicity. Looking at all these helps remind us about how incredible God is and the true beauty of the world he created. Its as though he created a puzzle and using the number 7 can help you decipher the code. These we just a few examples, but there are so many more. Looking for more of these signs is fun and I think will help strengthen your relationship with God.

C.S. Lewis - The Four Loves - Phileo Love

C.S. Lewis states that the necessity of friendship is not mandatory to our biological survival. Unlike the other loves it serves as the least "instinctive, organic, biological, gregarious and necessary" (58). The Decalogue - 1 & 5

The Decalogue is a series of films about the Ten Commandments. Decalogues 1 & 5 are thought provoking and pull the strings of feelings that all humans share, regardless of religion, race, etc.  The first film in the Decalogue is about the the First Commandment; " I am the Lord thy God; thou shalt not have strange gods before Me".
