The Holy Trinity and The Deathly Hallows
My research paper for the semester was on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 & 2 and I thought my finding on the connection with the Holy Trinity were interesting and wanted to share them in the blog. Just a disclaimer if you haven't seen the movies and don't want anything to be spoiled you may want to stop reading here.
The story of the Deathly Hallows themselves were discovered and explained to Harry in Part 1 of the Deathly Hallows. While on the quest to destroy Voldemort's horcruxes, Harry, Ron and Hermione stop at Xenophilius Lovegood's house. While there they ask him to decipher a symbol which Xenophilius explains as the Deathly Hallows. Hermione explains the story and origin of the Deathly Hallows which are the Elder Wand, Resurrection Stone and the Invisibility Cloak. A wizard who yields all three would be a "master of death" explained by Garrick Ollivander later in the film.
Every Christian believes in the Holy Trinity which are the Father (God), the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. The Deathly Hallows can be directed connected to the Holy Trinity and is a symbol for the power it has. First, there is the Elder Wand which symbolizes God. The Elder Wand is known as the most powerful wand in existence, with it anything is possible just as anything is possible with God. The elder wand can preform miracles that no man can and God preforms miracles that no man can as well. The Elder Wand is seen as the most powerful just as God is. The Resurrection Stone symbolizes Jesus Christ. While on earth, Jesus had the power to preform miracles and he could heal people, even bring people back to life. The Resurrection Stone did just that, with it a wizard could preform miracles like Jesus and bring life back to a being without it. The Invisibility Cloak symbolizes the Holy Spirit. The Holy is our way of receiving the Lord and his power. With the Holy Spirit we are able to access God and His power, and with the Invisibility Cloak you are able to harness its power and escape harm or death as explained in the film.
