Kali Lynch - A Reckless Love

There is a popular worship song right now called Reckless Love. The first time I heard this song was in September of 2017 when I sang it for a worship set during our Young Life leader weekend. Before hearing this song, I could never quite put Gods love into words. I knew that it is never ending, there is an abundance of it, and that it is perfect. All of these words though never really truly did it justice.

Never ending? True but not satisfying. Doesn't give goose bumps.
Abundance? Also true, but it just didn't roll of the tongue.
Yes it is perfect also but sometimes thinking of something that is perfect is inconceivable because nothing on this earth is perfect. 

But then we sang this song and I belted the words that Gods love is reckless.

Reckless.

Gods love is a reckless love. The lyrics say "oh it chases me down fights till I'm found leavers the 99. Theres no shadow you wont light up, mountain you wont climb up coming after me. Theres not wall you wont kick down, lie you wont tare down coming after me."

Reckless means without thinking or caring about the consequences of an action. This is a love that does not care about the person people think you are, about your past mistakes, about the number of lies you've told. It doesn't even care if you don't love it back. Its a reckless love. No matter the consequences, God will recklessly love anyway. No matter how someone responds or reacts or treats it, the love is there. It is constant. It is perfect. It is endless.

It is reckless. Inconceivable.

C.S. Lewis - The Four Loves - Phileo Love

C.S. Lewis states that the necessity of friendship is not mandatory to our biological survival. Unlike the other loves it serves as the least "instinctive, organic, biological, gregarious and necessary" (58). Many films touch upon the idea of love in its eros or agape form but phileo love seems to always be the side product of the story line which is very affirming of what C.S. Lewis states in regarding phileo love. The Decalogue - 1 & 5

The Decalogue is a series of films about the Ten Commandments. Decalogues 1 & 5 are thought provoking and pull the strings of feelings that all humans share, regardless of religion, race, etc.  The first film in the Decalogue is about the the First Commandment; " I am the Lord thy God; thou shalt not have strange gods before Me". The film focuses on a father and son, having a very close relationship.
